Avocado Toast Recipe

Hass avocados should be mature but not overripe. Choose avocados that yield slightly when gently squeezed rather than stringy or gelatinous ones. Cut them open and discard any wounded or brown parts before mashing.

Mash your avocado separately

Compared to guacamole, mashed avocado is creamier and richer. Do not mash on toast. Cavities or toast may break. Half and remove the seed, then fork-scoop avocado flesh into a bowl or plate. Mash meat. Many avocados massaged? A pastry cutter or potato masher can replace a small utensil.

Don’t forget the Salt

There needs to be at least one sprinkle of salt on each half of an avocado. Do you want extra points? Add a little granular sea salt to the avocado toast to finish it off.


– 2 slices of your preferred wholegrain bread – 1 medium ripe avocado – 1 tablespoon of lemon juice – 1 minced garlic clove – Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional for spicy flavor kick) – Salt & pepper – Additional toppings like tomato, red onion, micro greens, olive oil, balsamic glaze, everything bagel seasoning (all optional)


Toast bread slices until crisp. Put ripe avocado flesh in a small bowl. Make a thick paste with avocado, lemon juice, garlic, and optional red pepper flakes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Spread the mashed avocado mixture on toasted bread slices evenly. Add any desired ingredients for flavour and crunch. Consider spice blends, mixed veggies, seasoned oil drizzles, and infused balsamic.
