CANDIED ALMONDS Recipe 

You can give candied almonds as gifts or eat them on top of salads, yoghurt, and other foods. They're simple to make and only need a few things! 

– 1 large egg white – 1 tablespoon water (15 ml) – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Ingredient

– 1 pound raw almonds (464 grams) – 1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams) – 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon salt

Direction

Baking sheet preparation: Bake at 300°F (150°C) on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Coat candy: Pour egg white, water, and vanilla into a large bowl. Whisk until foamy and well combined.

In the egg white mixture, coat the raw almonds evenly. Next, mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt. The almonds should be fully coated with cinnamon-sugar.

Arrange the almonds in a single layer on the baking sheet. Take 45 minutes to bake the almonds. Turn the almonds every 15 minutes to avoid burning.

Fully cool: The almonds must stay at room temperature until they are fully cool. As the nuts cool, the candy coating will keep getting crisper.
