FRENCH TOAST STICKS RECIPE

After being baked until golden, these French toast sticks are covered in cinnamon sugar. Great for brunch or breakfast on the weekend!

– 6 to 7 slices Texas toast – 2 large eggs (lightly beaten) – ¼ cup (60 ml) whole milk – ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

– 1 tablespoon (12 grams) granulated sugar – ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon – 2 tablespoons (30 grams) butter (melted) – ¼ cup (50 grams) granulated sugar – 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon

Make French toast sticks: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Preheat a large baking sheet with parchment paper and nonstick spray. Cut each Texas toast in three lengthwise.

Stir lightly beaten eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, and vanilla in a shallow baking dish. Combine ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1 tablespoon granulated sugar in a small bowl. Eggs, cinnamon, sugar.

Quickly and thoroughly egg-dip each bread slice. Drain and spread on a large baking sheet. Toss after 10 minutes. Bake french toast sticks for 6–10 minutes. Post-baking removal.

Using a pastry brush, I coat each stick with cinnamon sugar and melted butter. Flip sticks and butter lightly. The cinnamon and sugar should be on a large plate.

Coat french toast sticks in cinnamon sugar. Leftover cinnamon sugar? Sprinkle or dip the sticks again before serving.
