Jonathan Owens 'Not Bothered' by Backlash for Claiming He's Simone Biles' 'Catch'

Along with his wife, who just became the most decorated gymnast of all time, the 28-year-old Green Bay Packers safety shared the tale of how they met on the most recent edition of The Pivot podcast. She even went ahead and contacted out first.

In response to co-host Channing Crowder's question, "How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?", Owens said that he "didn't know who she was" in 2020, when they initially met through the Raya dating app.

Biles, who was 26 years old, turned out to be more famous than he had anticipated. I couldn't help but notice her large number of Instagram followers right away. "So I'm thinking, 'Alright, she's gotta be good,'" Owens explained on the program.

Considering Biles's fame, Owens explained that he might not have been familiar with her at first: "When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn't have NBC, we didn't have Olympics channels, and we were in [training] camp [in] late July, early August."

According to Owens, she was the one who initially sent him a message, which resulted in them "texting back and forth" a few days later before finally meeting in person for the first time.

The Houston Texans football player explained, "We couldn't do much, because COVID happened and everything was shut down." They were playing that season. As a result, she reached Houston. She needed to drive for around 45 minutes because she resided in the suburbs. Afterwards, all else is anecdotal.

The wedding took place in the Harris County Courthouse in Houston on April 22, 2023, where the pair exchanged their vows. Over the course of a few weeks, they held a second wedding party at Cabo San Lucas, which is located in Mexico.

It appears like I am not paying attention. It is impossible for me to imagine a scenario in which I would have been able to see her participate," he continued.
